24th August 2012 Windsurfing: Newgale Wind Direction: SE Wind Stength: f3-6 Surf / Sea State: Small waves Air Temperature: 17 Sea Temperature: 16 Weather: Overcast Max Speed: Distance Covered: Cross-off at Newgale with small waves as the tide dropped away from the pebble bank. Difficult to judge sail size as the wind was up and down and gusty as well. Some of the Cardiff crew were ripping it up before the Tenby relay race at the weekend. Sails from 4.7 to 5.9 in use. Then the wind turned off - time to pack up. 5.3 Combat was much more manageable than the 5.7 Blacktip even though only 0.4 m difference. The Blacktip does have an upper limit - but then it does have more power when the wind is lighter. |
